Thank you for your interest in joining the MCBS’ Official Craft Lodge and we thank you also for your patience.
The Masonic Craft Beer Society is very proud to formally introduce you to Horus Lodge No. 3155.
Here are the important details you’ve been waiting for:
Horus Lodge No. 3155 was warranted on 22nd February 1906 and consecrated on 14th May 1906 at New Gaiety Restaurant, Strand, London.
Since then, the Lodge moved its meetings to Holborn Restaurant, High Holborn in 1911, Café Monaco on Shaftesbury Avenue in 1916 and finally to Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street in 1942 where it continues to meet to this day.
Horus Lodge No. 3155 is both a Hallstone Lodge and a founding Lodge of Metropolitan Grand Lodge.
The Masonic Craft Beer Society will be taking over the warrant of Horus Lodge No. 3155.
The Lodge will be Non-Progressive, meaning that a Worshipful Master will be selected each year by the Lodge Committee, and the Master will select his officers. There is no expectation on Members that they will need to take an Office, if they simply wish to enjoy being a part of the Lodge.
At each meeting, we intend to host a different craft brewery as part of the event, and will offer a tasting experience to Brethren who wish to partake. We will also ensure that the bar will be stocked with the beers of that meeting’s ‘featured brewery’.
Lodge meetings will be held at Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street, London. Dining will also be hosted at Freemasons’ Hall.
Meetings will take place twice yearly.
The Installation will be on the third Saturday in May, and the other regular meeting will be on the third Saturday in October.
We expect the Lodge to be tyled at 10am.
To join Horus Lodge No. 3155, you will be required to pay a £30-50 joining fee, and your first year’s annual subscription of £130-150 upfront. Annual subs will be £130-150 per year after this.
We will confirm exact fees once we have a better idea of how many members we are expecting.
We intend to offer payment plans which will allow you to pay your annual subs annually, quarterly and monthly by Direct Debit. More details will be provided to you once we have received your formal application.
We also intend to keep dining fees at around £55.
